About Using the Center of Gravity in an Analysis
Click > to calculate and display a manikin's center of gravity based on its mass properties and any object associated to it. You can calculate a manikin's center of gravity using the predefined center of mass for each individual manikin segment.
Bear in mind the following factors when you use the center of gravity in an analysis:
• The manikin's center of gravity is recalculated whenever the manikin scene changes.
• You must display the center of gravity to run an analysis.
• You can save the center of gravity (COG) as a feature.
• When you run an analysis that simulates normal carrying tasks, the COG functionality calculates the relationship between the manikin's posture and the load the manikin can bear.
• If only one manikin is in the scene, you need not select it before running an analysis. If there are several manikins, you must select one for which to display the center of gravity upon completion of the analysis.
• You must rerun an analysis whenever the manikin is dragged to another position or a manikin's posture or accessories are modified.
