Orientation for Zero Length Springs in 2D Models
You can define zero length springs for 2D models. You can pick two coincident points to be the endpoints of a zero-length spring.
To define the X- and Y- orientation of the spring, use the Orientation area of the Spring Definition dialog, which displays the following options:
• X Direction aligned with the Spring—The X- direction of the spring is the same as the direction of the spring. The Y- direction of the spring is in the plane of the model.
• XY Directions defined by Coordinate System—In this case the XY orientation of the spring is selected by selecting a coordinate system in the collector that is displayed below this option. You can only select a Cartesian coordinate system whose XY plane is coincident with the XY plane of the model.
