Although the surface categories are displayed in unique colors after classification, you cannot clearly differentiate the core, cavity, and undercut surfaces regions. Surface shading, therefore, provides a preview of the classified surfaces before you complete the feature.

You can shade surfaces to analyze them. After you analyze the surfaces of the different regions, you can include, exclude, or reorganize the surfaces in the regions if required.
