Guidelines for Thermal Boundary Conditions for Geometry
When you define thermal boundary conditions for geometry, keep the following points in mind:
Any point, vertex, curve, or surface to which you apply a boundary condition must be associated with at least one element. To check associations with geometry that will be meshed, click the appropriate icon on the model or select the boundary condition in the model tree. Creo Simulate highlights the icon and associated geometry.
A thermal boundary condition defined at a point or on a curve can result in theoretically infinite stresses. See Handling Stress Concentrations for information on working around this problem.
Any constrained curve constrains the edges, beams, or 2D shells that lie on that curve.
Any constrained surface constrains the shells, solid faces, 2D solids, or 2D plates that lie on that surface.
Any constrained edge constrains the beams and 2D shells that lie on that edge.
You should not create two different prescribed temperatures on two different curves that touch within the same constraint set. Doing so will result in a conflict between the two temperature constraints.
