Point–Point Pairs
When you select Point-Point Pairs from the References menu on the Beam Definition or Spring Definition dialog boxes, you can create multiple beams or springs on individual pairs of points. These beams or springs will all share the same definition. In contrast, if you select Point-Point, Point-Surface, or Point-Edge from the References menu, the definition applies to only one spring or beam at a time.
To create multiple beams or springs, select Point-Point Pairs from the References menu and then select the beginning and end points of each beam or spring you want to create. The selected entities are displayed in the References collector. You must select an even number of points without selecting the same point again. Creo Simulate ignores the last point if an odd number of points is selected. When you click OK on the Beam Definition or Spring Definition dialog boxes, a beam is created for each pair of points starting with the first pair in the collector.
*
The Beam Definition dialog box does not close unless all beams are defined successfully when you click OK on it. In case all beams are not defined, an error message is displayed. Creo Simulate removes the references that are responsible for the definition of the beam from the collector.
Such an error message is not displayed when you edit an already defined beam or spring.
You can use the Point-Point Pairs option to create multiple continuous or individual beams or springs, all having the same definition. For example:
You can create a continuous string of end-to-end beams or springs where the end of one beam or spring is at the same point as the beginning of the next. As shown on the left in the example below, you can create four continuous end-to-end beams or springs that have the same beginning and end point by clicking points 1, 2, 2, 3, 3, 4, 4, and 1, in that order.
You can create multiple individual beams or springs by clicking the beginning and end points of each one. As shown on the right in the example below, you can create two individual beams or springs that do not touch each other by clicking points 1, 2, 3, and 4.
