Guidelines for Using IEAC Mesh Control
• The Exclude option in the IEAC AutoGEM Control dialog box does not affect the creation of a mesh.
• If an element touches an entity and that entity is a reference for an IEAC mesh control, then that element is considered to be isolating.
• If you bring the model with an IEAC mesh control in Independent mode, you can get the same mesh and analysis results as in the integrated mode. However, you cannot create, edit, or review IEAC mesh controls in the Independent mode.
• The IEAC mesh controls defined at the part level are also valid at the assembly level.
• All the IEAC mesh controls in a model are available for all analyses. If you do not want a specific IEAC mesh control to influence an analysis, you must suppress the IEAC mesh control before running the analysis.
• If your model contains multiple IEAC mesh controls and some of the IEAC mesh controls are suppressed, then AutoGEM considers only the non-suppressed IEAC mesh controls for interactive meshing or for analysis.
• If you select Reentrant Corners, Point Loads, and Point Constraints in the AutoGEM Settings dialog box, and also define an IEAC mesh control with Maximum Element Size, the IEAC mesh control takes precedence over the AutoGEM settings. Thus, Creo Simulate considers the IEAC mesh control and creates a mesh according to the element size defined in the IEAC mesh control.
