Watch a video that demonstrates this enhancement:
What is the benefit of this enhancement?
This enhancement replaces the geometric algorithm that is used to create the formula-based lattices. It also creates complementary bodies pertinent to triply periodic minimal surface cells.
It is useful when you want to create a better interfacing between the lattice and the shell. The complementary bodies are useful for both structural requirements and when the formula-based lattice is used in a fluid transfer case.
This enhancement dramatically reduces the cases of chunky edges of a formula-based lattice, and enables a more accurate representation of the formula-based lattice.
If the formula-based lattices are already created and you open such model in Creo Parametric 8.0.0.0 to edit its definition, a message prompts you if you want to convert to the new algorithm.
For structural applications, it is possible to assign different materials to each complementary volume and also to the lattice. This provides a complete control over the material assignment.
