To Split Mesh Elements
1. Create or import a shape.
2. Select one or more faces or edges on the control mesh.
3. In the Create group, click a button to split a face or an edge:
◦ To split edges, click the arrow next to 
Edge Split and click a button on the list to specify the number of splits to add.
