To Mirror a Mesh Element
1. Create or import a shape.
2. Select a face or boundary edge on the control mesh.
3. Click Freestyle > Mirror. You are prompted to select a reference datum plane.
4. Select a datum plane to mirror the mesh elements. The geometry is mirrored about the selected datum plane.
5. Perform the following operations on the mirrored mesh elements:
Connect Mirror—Connects the selected face or edge to its mirrored face or edge. Select a face or edge and click Connect Mirror.
Join Mirror—Joins the selected face or edge to its mirrored face or edge. Select a face or edge and click Connect Mirror > Join Mirror.
Delete Mirror—Deletes the mirrored control mesh.
Change Plane—Projects the edges or vertices lying on the previous mirror plane onto the new plane. Click Mirror > Change Plane and select a new mirror plane.

When you make topological changes to a dependent or an independent mirrored control mesh, the following behavior is exhibited:
For an independent mirrored mesh, all newly created or altered elements will become independent.
For a dependent mirrored mesh, the operation fails if the dependent geometry is altered as a result of the topological change.
You can click Dependent to maintain or to break the dependency between the mirrored control mesh and the original mesh. The Dependent command is available only when you create a mirrored geometry. When you break the dependency, the control mesh for the mirrored geometry is displayed. You can modify this mesh if required.
