To Create an Optimization Study
This procedure assumes that you are in the Analyses and Design Studies dialog box.
1. Click > . The Optimization Study Definition dialog box opens.
2. Enter a name at the top of the Optimization Study Definition dialog box. The name you enter must be different from the name for the analysis.
3. Enter a description for the optimization (if required).
4. Select optimization Type from the drop-down list.
◦ If you select the
Type as
Optimization,
Creo Simulate adds the
Goal area with the
goal definition fields to the dialog box. Selecting a goal is optional, but if you do not select a goal, you must define design limits.
◦ If you select the Type as Feasibility, you must define design limits.
5. Select
Design Limits for one or more measures that
Creo Simulate should not violate during the optimization. Defining design limits is optional, but if you do not define limits, you must define a goal.
6. Select the Analysis and Loadset that you want from the drop-down list.
7. Click
or
to select and add a dimension or a
Creo Parametric parameter to the
Variables table of your design study. Define the range across which you want
Creo Simulate to vary each selected variable during the optimization.
8. Click
Options to specify additional options for the design study.
9. Click OK.
You return to the dialog box and the design study appears in the list.
