Defining Reference Planes for Cutting or Capping Surfaces
Use the Plane area on the Results Surface Definition dialog box to select the plane that you want Creo Simulate to use as a reference when creating the cutting or capping surface. You can select from among:
XY—Create a cutting or capping surface parallel to the XY plane of the coordinate system, screen view, or three-point grid you selected. In this case, the depth of the cut or cap is calculated in the direction of the Z axis starting with the model geometry nearest the coordinate system origin.
XZ—Create a cutting or capping surface parallel to the XZ plane of the coordinate system, screen view, or three-point grid you selected. In this case, the depth of the cut or cap is calculated in the direction of the Y axis starting with the model geometry nearest the coordinate system origin.
YZ—Create a cutting or capping surface parallel to the YZ plane of the coordinate system, screen view, or three-point grid you selected. In this case, the depth of the cut or cap is calculated in the direction of the X axis starting with the model geometry nearest the coordinate system origin.
