1. Click New on the Material Orientations dialog box to open the Material Orientation Definition dialog box.

2. Type a name in the Name area or accept the default.

3. Type an optional description for the material orientation in the Description area.

4. Select Volumetric in the Type area.

5. To use a different coordinate system, click World for WCS or click Selected to select a UCS in the Coordinate System area.

6. In the Material Direction area select any combination of the current coordinate system directions for the three principal material directions.

7. Select the Rotate about... check box to specify additional rotations about one or more material directions.

8. Click Preview to view the material orientation for the selected component. A triad indicates the three principal material orientations.

9. Click OK.
