Static Analysis of Models with Elastoplastic Materials
For a static analysis of a model with an elastoplastic material select the following items on the Static Analysis Definition dialog box:
Nonlinear options—If your model uses an elastoplastic material the Nonlinear / use load histories check box is selected by default when you open the Static Analysis Definition dialog box. The Nonlinear options area is visible and Plasticity is highlighted.
Calculate large deformations—Check box selected by default to calculate large deformations. Clear this check box if you do not want to calculate large deformations in the model If this check box is cleared, a small-strain plasticity analysis is run.
Constraints—Allows you to select one or more constraint sets.
Loads—Allows you to select one or more load sets unless you are using a constraint set with an enforced displacement.
You must also select items on the following tabs on the Static Analysis Definition dialog box:

Analyses of models with elastoplastic materials is supported only for 3D solids, simple springs and 2D plane strain or plane stress models. Such analyses are not supported for entities like beams, welds, fasteners, shell pairs and shells.
