Radiation Boundary Condition—Creo Ansys Simulation
A radiation boundary condition simulates radiation heating or cooling conditions between the selected references and the surroundings. The selected references radiate energy to the surroundings as well as absorb energy from the surroundings at a fixed ambient temperature.
To Define a Radiation Boundary Condition
1. After you create a new thermal simulation study, click Ansys Simulation > Radiation. The Radiation dialog box opens.
2. Specify a Name for the boundary condition or accept the default name. Optionally click the color swatch adjacent to the Name box to change the color of the icon, the distribution, and the text displayed for the boundary condition.
3. Select one or more surface to which you want to apply the boundary condition. Your selections appears in the Surfaces collector.
4. Specify the value of Emissivity that is the ratio of the radiation emitted by a surface to the radiation emitted by a black body at the same temperature as the references. The value of emissivity must be between 0 and 1.
5. Specify the Ambient temperature as the temperature of the environment surrounding the selected surfaces. The default value of ambient temperature is 20 C.
6. Click OK to create the boundary condition and save it.
