Beam Releases—Creo Ansys Simulation
Beam releases are defined at vertices where two or more beams meet, or a beam ends and are used to define the degrees of freedom at these vertices.
To Define a Beam Release
1. Click Refine Model > Beam > Beam Release.
2. The Beam Release dialog box opens.
3. Select a vertex at which a beam ends, or two or more beams meet. Your selection is displayed in the Junction/End Point reference collector.
4. Select a beam curve or edge, or multiple beams that are parallel or perpendicular to each other and meet at the vertex selected in the previous step.
At least one of the beams that meet at the vertex or junction must not be selected.
If you selected a single beam end as the vertex in the previous step then this beam is automatically selected by the software.
5. Select one or more of the X, Y or Z degrees of freedom in translation or rotation to set it to be free. By default all 6 degrees of freedom are fixed.
Degrees of freedom are defined with respect to the beam action coordinate system of the first curve reference.
6. Click OK to define and save the beam release.
*
Only one beam release may be defined on a vertex.
The saved beam release is displayed in the Simulation Tree.
