To Create a Merge Feature
1. Perform one of the following actions:
Select two quilts, and then click Model > Merge.
Click Model > Merge, and then select two quilts.
The Merge tab opens. The first quilt selected becomes the default primary quilt, which provides the quilt ID for the merged quilt.
2. To select the method for merging, click the Options tab, and select an option:
Intersect—Merges two quilts that intersect. The resulting quilt consists of portions of the original quilts that are adjacent to the intersection boundary. You select which portion of each quilt to keep.
Join—Merges two adjacent quilts. The single-sided edge of one quilt must lie on the other quilt.
3. The arrows at the intersection of two quilts point to the sides of the quilts that will be included in the merged quilt. You can change the sides of the quilts to include in the resulting feature by doing the following:
When Intersect is selected:
For each quilt, you can change the side of the quilt to keep by clicking Side of 1st Quilt to Keep for the first quilt or Side of 2nd Quilt to Keep for the second quilt. Notice how the arrows flip as you change the sides to keep.
When Join is selected:
If one quilt extends beyond the other one, you can specify which side of the quilt to keep by clicking Side of 1st Quilt to Keep for the first quilt or Side of 2nd Quilt to Keep for the second quilt.
4. (Optional) To change the primary quilt, click the References tab. Select a quilt in the Quilts collector and then use the arrows to move the quilt up or down. The top quilt is the primary quilt.
5. To verify the feature, click .
6. Click OK.
