Tips for Creating an Extrusion Using the Object/Action Workflow
With this method, you first select a sketch and then click > 
Extrude to activate the Extrude tool. The selected sketch is copied into the feature section. A warning dialog box informs you that the feature section will not be associative with the original datum curve. The Extrude tool analyzes the selected geometry and creates a default extrusion. The default feature type depends on the selected geometry (for example, an open sketch produces a surface). You can then change the feature type and options as needed.
