To Define Lightweight Representation for a Hole
You can define a lightweight representation for a hole from inside the hole feature during feature creation or editing, or from outside the hole feature.
Inside the hole feature
When the Hole tab is open, click Lightweight to change the hole representation to lightweight.
Outside the hole feature
1. Select one or more holes in the graphics window, the Model Tree, or the Search Tool.
2. Right-click and choose Hole Representation > Lightweight.
*
When you change the geometry representation of a hole with children, the Children might fail dialog box opens. Click OK to continue changing the representation.
If you want to change back to solid representation, right-click the hole and choose Hole Representation > Solid.
*
The solid geometry of a hole uses more memory than a lightweight hole. Having a large number of solid holes (for example, more than 3,000) can cause serious performance issues, to the point that the system can run out of memory. Make sure to take this into account when converting lightweight holes.
