About Read-Only Features
To ensure that specified features or all features in a part cannot be modified at a later time, you can make them read-only. The dimensions, references, or definitions of read-only features cannot be edited, and you cannot delete, suppress, reorder, or pattern them. However, you can add features to the parts that intersect the read-only features. You can also make components in an assembly read-only.
When you make a feature read-only, all the features that came before it in the regeneration list also become read-only. You can remove the read-only setting from some or all features.
When you make a feature within a group read-only, then the entire group, and all the features before the group in the regeneration list, become read only. A group can contain either features that are read-only or features that are not read-only, but not both.
