To Project a Sketch
1. With a model open, click Model > Project. The Project tab opens.

You can also start the Project tool by selecting a sketch and clicking Model > Project.
2. To define the feature to project a sketch, under Project, click Sketch.
3. To select or create a sketch to project, perform one of these actions:
To select a sketch, under Project, click the collector, and then select a sketch in the graphics window or Model Tree.
To create a sketch, click the References tab, click Define, and use the Sketch dialog box that opens to create a sketch to project.

If you are using an internal sketch and want to modify it, click Edit on the References tab and use the Sketch dialog box or right-click and choose Edit Internal Sketch on the shortcut menu.
4. To select the surface onto which to project the sketch, under Project On click the collector, and in the graphics window, click surfaces of one or more bodies, or quilts, or datum planes.
5. To define the project direction, under Project Direction, select an option:
Along Direction—Projects the sketch along a specified direction.
Normal to Surface—Projects the sketch normal to the curve plane or a specified plane or surface.
6. The sketch plane is selected as the direction reference by default. To change the direction reference, under Project Direction, click the collector and select a plane, an axis, an axis of a coordinate system, or a straight entity to use as the project direction reference. If needed, to flip the project direction by clicking .
7. Click OK. The sketched curve is projected onto the selected surface.
