About Redefining Incremental Geometry Features
There are two reasons to redefine Incremental Geometry features:
To resolve a failed feature
An Incremental Geometry feature can fail when, after the Creo Direct features are collapsed, one or more of the features that preceded the Incremental Geometry feature is modified and can no longer attach to the geometry that was created in Creo.
If an Incremental Geometry feature fails, you can redefine it as unattached geometry to resolve the failure. You can use Creo tools to edit the unattached geometry and reapply it to the model.
To detach a quilt so it can be modified and reattached
You can modify an unattached quilt using surfacing tools. You can reattach the quilt later using the Solidify or Attach features.
