To Simulate Reaching
1. Click > . The Manikin Motion dialog box opens showing the Reach tab.
2. Under Manikin, click the Segment collector, and select a manikin segment.
Depending on the segment chosen, its point and plane are selected automatically. For example, when you select a hand, the point and plane of the center of prehension are also selected.
3. Under Target, click a collector, and select a reach target—a segment, a point, or a plane in the scenario.
You can position the manikin to reach with its toes as well as with its hands. Select the segment, choose a toe (the toe's datum point), and then select the target. The manikin reaches for the selected point. The constraint is automatically created and appears on the Manikin Tree.
| The manikin's toes are locked by default and are automatically unlocked when used in a reach. The locked toes can limit a reach with the heel and you may have to manually unlock them. |
4. Save as a snapshot, or click Close.
