About the External Analysis and Analysis Feature
In addition to standard analyses provided by Creo Parametric, you can create a customized analysis using an external application. To access an external analysis, click Analysis > External Analysis from the toolbar menu. The External Analysis dialog box opens and provides you with the following controls.
Setup—Use to define pre-process relations.
Write—Use to write parameters and dimension to an external file.
Execute—Use to execute command that drives an external application.
Read—Use to read parameters from an external file.
Post-Process—Use to post-process relations.
You can control the execution sequence of the analysis by selecting the checkbox against the steps. You cannot change the sequence of steps, however you can include or exclude any step from the execution list. When you select a step, Creo Parametric executes that step when you click the Compute button.
You can execute, create feature and display information by using these controls.
Compute—Click Compute to perform the analysis.
Add Feature—Click Add Feature to save the analysis as an analysis feature and enter a name for the feature. A new analysis feature appears on the Model Tree.
Info—Click Info to display information about the external analysis.
You can also create an analysis feature that is driven by an external analysis. The external application determines which parameters and datum features will be created as a result of this analysis feature. The external application allows you to create geometry (for example, datum curves) and use this geometry as regular Creo Parametric features for modeling and analysis.
To create an external analysis feature, click Analysis > Analysis and select External Analysis as the analysis type.
