To Rename an Object
1. Click > > . The Model Properties dialog box opens.
2. Click change in the Names line. The Rename dialog box opens and displays features, components, geometry with user-defined names, and datums with default names.
3. Perform one of the following steps in the Rename dialog box.
◦ To rename an entity, click the name in the Name column and type a new name and press ENTER.
◦ To rename an entity that is not listed in the Name column, perform the following steps.
1. Select the entity on the Model Tree or in the graphics area. The selected entity is added to the list in the Rename dialog box.
2. Type a new name in the Name column and press ENTER.
◦ To remove the user-defined name of an entity perform the following steps.
1. Select the row with the user-defined name of an entity and click Remove. The user-defined name and the corresponding row is removed from the list.
2. Click OK to save the change. Creo Parametric assigns a system generated name to the entity that is removed from the Rename dialog box.
