To Create a Mill Surface
1. Click > to create a mill surface. Creo NC enables the icons for only those features that are relevant for the manufacturing model.
2. Do any of the following to add a feature to the mill surface:
◦ Click > to create an extrude feature. Alternatively, click > . Extrude allows you to create a feature by projecting the section from the sketching plane.
◦ Click > to create a revolve feature. Alternatively, click > . Revolve allows you to create a feature by revolving the sketched section around a centerline from the sketching plane into the part.
◦ Click > to create a sweep feature. Sweep allows you to create a feature by sketching a trajectory and then sweeping a cross section along it.
◦ Click > to create a swept blend feature.
◦ Click
Mill Surface and the arrow next to
Sweep and select
Helical Sweep. Alternatively, click > > > to create a helical sweep feature. Helical sweep allows you to create a feature by sweeping a section along a helical trajectory.
◦ Click > > and select any option to create a blend feature. Alternatively, click > > > . Blend allows you to create a feature that consists of a set of planar sections that are connected by transition surfaces to form a solid.
◦ Click > to create a round feature. Alternatively, click > > > > > . Rounds are a type of edge treatment feature in which a radius is added to an edge or edges, an edge chain, or between surfaces. Surfaces can be solid model surfaces or traditional Creo Parametric zero-thickness quilts and surfaces.
◦ Click > to create advanced features. Advanced features are features with complex shapes, for example, datum curves or multiple trajectories.
◦ Click > to create a planar datum surface by sketching the boundaries.
◦ Click > to create a mill surface that only includes surfaces above or below a user specified angle.
◦ Click > to create a mill surface to represent the area that can be milled by a tool or the area that tool will leave unmachined when the tool path is complete.
◦ Select a surface that you want to copy and click > to copy the surface. Click > . The feature creation tool of the original feature opens. The Copy option is especially instrumental in Creo NC, as it allows you to reference the geometry of the design model.
Based on the feature that you want to add, Creo NC displays the corresponding dashboard. Specify the necessary details to create the feature.
