About High Speed Milling
High Speed Milling or HSM is a machining method that includes high speed rates, high spindle speeds, and specific tools. HSM from ModuleWorks provides four sequences—HSM Rough, HSM Rest Rough, HSM Finish, and HSM Rest Finishing. The following are some of the benefits of HSM Milling—
• Reduction of cutting forces
• Good surface finish
• Accurate parts
• Fast material removal
You get better results while simulating material removal if you created HSM Milling sequences.
In a Creo Parametric session, you can add the 3AXIS_MOLD_TOOLING license to make the High Speed Milling group available on the Mill tab, without a need to end the current session. The existing high speed milling steps also become available in the model tree. Without this license the High Speed Milling group remains unavailable.
