To Assemble a Reference Model with Inherited Features
1. Click Manufacturing > Reference Model > Inherit Reference Model.
2. In the Open dialog box, select the model from which the reference model must inherit features.
3. Constrain and place the model using the Component Placement tab.
4. Click . The Create Reference Model dialog box opens.

The Create Reference Model dialog box is not available if you select an assembly for the reference model.
5. Under Reference model type, click Inherited to inherit the features from the selected model to the reference model.

The options for Reference model type are available only if you use Insert > Reference Model > Assemble to create the reference model.
6. Under Reference Model, modify the default name and add the common name of the reference model. This step is optional.
7. Click OK.
