To Edit Support Structure Profiles
1. Do one of the following, depending on whether you want to edit all instances of the support structure profile, or the support structure profile of one facet feature:
To edit all instances of the support structure profile:
1. Click Tray > Edit Support Parameters. The Support Structure Profiles dialog box opens. The profiles are listed at the top of the dialog box, and the parameters are listed at the bottom. The parameters are grouped by type.
2. For out of the box or default profiles, you must first make a copy of the profile, and then edit the copy:
a. In the list of profiles under Out of the box profiles, or for the Default profile under Profiles, select a support structure profile to copy.
b. Click Copy. The system creates a new profile, whose parameters are identical to the profile you copied. The new profile appears at the bottom of the list.
3. To rename the profile:
a. Select the new profile, and click Rename. The profile name becomes available for editing.
b. Type a new name for the profile, and then press ENTER.
To edit the support structure profile of one facet feature (support block):
In the Model Tree, right-click a support block (facet feature) and select Edit Support Parameters. The Support Structure Profiles dialog box opens.
2. To select the parameters that enable the system to automatically create certain types of support structures, click Support types to expand the list, and then select the type or types of support structure to create automatically.
3. Edit the parameter values. To locate a parameter, type the parameter name in the search box, and it will be highlighted in the parameter list.
4. Click Save Profile. The profile is saved to the parameters folder.
When you edit all the instances of a support structure profile, then when you generate the support, all instances of the profile are updated. However, if you edited the support structure profile for one or more facet features, then the individual profile takes precedence, and editing all instances does not override the individual support structure profile.
When you edit the support structure profile of one facet feature, then when you regenerate the model, only the support structure profile used by that facet feature is updated. An asterisk (*) appears in front of the profile name to indicate that it has been edited. The parameters of the edited profile have different values than the parameters of the profile with the same name but without the asterisk.
When you edit a support structure profile that is not active, and generate the support, then only the facet features that use this support structure profile are regenerated. However, if you edited the support structure profile for one or more facet features, then the individual profile takes precedence, and only the parameters that you did not edit are updated in the support structure profile.
