To Specify the Display of Individual Datum Entities
You can use the Entity Display tab in the Creo Parametric Options dialog box (File > Options) to specify the display status.
The following datum display options are available in the Entity Display tab under Datum display settings:
Show datum planes—Displays datum planes and their names. When you turn off the datum plane display by clearing the check box, this will not affect a datum plane that is set as a reference datum for geometric tolerances. This can also be set using the display_planes configuration option.

When you clear this checkbox, the Show datum planes with a color fill and Show datum plane tags check boxes are not available for selection.
Show datum planes with a color fill—Shows the outline color and transparent color fill of datum planes. Use Fill transparencyto change the color transparency of the fill. The default value is 7.
The Show datum planes with a color fill option is selected by default. When selected, the following occurs:
When you move the mouse pointer on the datum plane, the outline and the datum plane fill are preselected. The outline is highlighted with a thick border. The color of the outline and fill color is same. To control the preselection highlighting color of the datum planes, do the following:
1. On the File menu, click Options.
2. Click System Appearance. In Global Colors, click Graphics > Preselection highlight.
When you select the datum plane, the outline and fill datum plane is highlighted. To control the highlighting color of the datum plane, do the following:
1. On the File menu, click Options.
2. Click System Appearance. In Global Colors, click Graphics > Selected.

When this option is not selected and you move the mouse pointer on the datum plane or select the datum plane, only the outline is highlighted based on the defined color.
The datum outline color and the fill color are controlled by the following options:
The datum color selected from the Positive side option is applicable to both datum plane outline and fill color. The outline color and datum fill color are retained when you change the datum view direction in 3D model.
The datum color selected from the Negative side option is applicable only to the datum fill color. The datum outline is visible based on the color selected from the Positive side option. The fill color is visible based on the datum view direction in 3D model.
To locate Positive side and Negative side datum color options, do the following:
1. Click File > Options.
2. On the Creo Parametric Optionsdialog box, click System Appearance on the left. In Global Colors, click Datum. The datum plane color options are available under Plane.
To show or hide the transparent color fill of datum planes, do one of the following:
Select or clear the Show datum planes with a color fill check box .
On the Graphics Window, click Datum Display Filters > Plane Fill Display.
On the View tab, click Show > Plane Fill Display.

The actions of Plane Fill Display and Show datum planes with a color fill options are synchronized.
Show datum plane tags—Displays datum plane names. This can also be set using the display_plane_tags configuration option.
Show datum axes—Displays datum axes and their names. Note that in Drawing mode, when you turn the datum axis display off by clearing the check box, only the axis names are blanked. This can also be set using the display_axes configuration option.
Show datum axis tags—Displays datum axis names. This can also be set using the display_axis_tags configuration option.
Show datum points—Displays datum points and their names. This can also be set using the datum_point_display configuration option.
Show point symbol as—Displays datum points and their names. Use the list box to select the type of symbol you want to use to designate a point. The options are Cross and dot, Cross, Dot, Circle, Triangle, and Square. This can also be set using the display_point_symbol configuration option.
Show datum point tags—Displays datum point names. This can also be set using the display_point_tags configuration option.
Show datum coordinate system—Displays coordinate systems and their names. This can also be set using the display_coord_sys configuration option.
Show coordinate system tags—Displays coordinate system names. This can also be set using the display_coord_sys_tags configuration option .
Show Images—Displays the images.
