To Create a Swept Blend Segment
1. Click > > . The Swept Blend tab opens.
2. For a first segment, type a value for the segment thickness or accept the default value. Click
to flip the thickness direction.
3. The References tab is open by default. Define a trajectory and at least two sections for the swept blend.
4. Click Sections. The Sections tab opens. Perform any of the following operations:
◦ Click Sketched Sections or Selected Sections, and then define Section 1. Click Sketch to open the Sketch tab.
▪ If Sketched Sections is selected, then you need to define the Section Location.
▪ If Selected Sections is selected, then you can click Details to open the Chain dialog box where you select Standard or Rule-based references.
▪ If Rule-based is selected, then you can select Tangent, Partial loop, Complete loop, or All curves in feature. Click OK to exit.
▪ Click Add Blend Vertex to add a blend vertex in the active section.
5. Click Tangency. The Tangency tab opens. Perform any of the following operations:
◦ Click Start Section and then select Free, Tangent, or Normal from the Condition list.
◦ Repeat the above for End Section.
6. To set board-specific options, click Options. The Options tab opens. Perform any of the following operations:
◦ Click Add bends on sharp edges to round sharp edges when the sketch includes nontangent geometry. Set the value of the radius and the location for dimensioning the radius.
◦ Click Set driving surface opposite blended surface to flip the driving surface. This option is not available for a first segment.
◦ Click Merge to model to merge the segment with intersecting segments.
To keep the new segment edges from merging with existing intersecting segments, click Keep merged edges.
