To Create a Planar Segment
1. Click Model > Planar. The Planar tab opens.
2. The References tab is open by default.
3. Click Define. The Sketch dialog box opens. Select sketch references and click Sketch.

When you are using an external sketch, click Unlink to break the association between the sketch feature and the segment sketch. For more information about external sketches, search the Fundamentals area of the Help Center.
4. Create a closed loop sketch and click OK to accept the sketch.
5. To change the default thickness, under Thickness change the default value in the box.
6. To flip the thickness direction, click .
7. To define merged edges, click Options. The Options tab opens. Perform the following operations:
◦ Click Merge to model to merge the segment with intersecting segments.
◦ To keep the new segment edges from merging with existing intersecting segments, click Keep merged edges.

These options are not available for the first board segment.
8. Click .
