To Search for a Component by Designation
During a design change the schematic engineer may refer to the components that have been updated by reference designation. Using the Find option you can find components based on their reference designation.
1. Click > 
Find or press CTRL+F to open the Search Tool dialog box.

3. In the Look in dropdown list, select assembly or part.
4. On the Attributes tab, under Rule, click Property.
5. Under Criteria, select Designation from the Property dropdown list.
6. In the Value box, type the search string.
7. Click Find Now. The found parts appear under items found.
