To Create a Stiff Shrink Feature
Stiff Shrink is a sheath feature through which multiple cables and wires can be routed. Unlike the Bundle feature, Stiff Shrink does not bend and remains stiff or straight along its axis.
1. Click Stiff Shrink on the Cabling tab.
2. Select a location or a coordinate system.
You can first create a Stiff Shrink and then route new cables through it or select an existing location and then place a Stiff Shrink on all cables that go through that location.
3. Select an existing shrink spool on which to base the new Stiff Shrink feature and continue from step 7. Click to create a new shrink spool.
4. At the prompt, type a unique name for the shrink spool. The Electrical Parameters dialog box appears with the default spool parameters.
5. Modify the required spool parameter values.
6. Click Apply and then OK in the Electrical Parameters dialog box.
7. Type the length of the Stiff Shrink in the Length box. The Stiff Shrink is placed symmetrically with its midpoint aligned with the selected location.
8. Click OK. The Stiff Shrink feature is created. All cables passing through the selected location are added to the Stiff Shrink. A new coordinate system is created at the selected location if you have placed the feature on a location. The Stiff Shrink has a direction along the z axis. You can reorient a Stiff Shrink by using the coordinate system.
