To Create a Leader Note
1. On the Annotate tab, click the arrow next to Note and click Leader Note. The Select Reference dialog box opens.
2. Select one of the following reference options on the Select Reference dialog box to specify the point of attachment of the leader on the selected entity:
—Any reference point on an entity.
—Midpoint of an edge or an entity.
—The intersection of two entities.
3. Click to select a reference object. The text box is attached at the selected point by its leader. To create leader notes, see the instructions that follow:
Normal leader note—Move the pointer until the guide appears. The leader of a normal leader note is normal to the selected reference.
Tangent leader note—Move the pointer until the guide appears. The leader of a tangent leader note is tangent to the selected reference.
Note with a standard leader—Move the pointer to any suitable location.
You can change the selected reference in the following ways:
Press CTRL and click the currently selected reference entity to remove the reference.
Press CTRL and click another entity to add references or leaders.

If you select multiple references, the note is created with multiple leaders.
A leader with rubber-band effect appears attached to the selected entity. You can drag and place the text box for the note.
4. Middle-click on the drawing to specify a location for the note. The Format tab opens. Use the commands on the Format tab to format the note text.
5. Type the note text and click outside the text box to place the note.
To Create Additional Leaders for a Note
1. Create a leader note with a normal or tangent leader.
2. Right-click the note.
3. On the shortcut menu, click Add Leader.
4. Select the reference on which to place the leader.
