To Create a Draft View with Related Imported Annotations
1. Click File > Open. The File Open dialog box opens.
2. Select DXF (*.dxf), DWG (*.dwg), IGES (*.iges) or Creo Elements/Direct Drawing (*.bi, *.bdl, *.mi) from the Type list. The selected type of files in the working directory are listed.
3. Select the file that you want to import or browse to the required file.
4. Click Import. The Import New Model dialog box opens. Import this file as a drawing.
5. Accept the default file name or type a new name.
6. Click OK. The Import DXF, Import DWG, Import IGES, or Import MI dialog box opens.
7. Select Import associative dimensions.
8. Click OK.
9. In the imported file, select all the annotations that need to be related to the draft view, along with the draft geometry chosen for the creation of the draft view.

Ordinate dimensions are not imported as associative when you import DXF, DWG, or IGES files. Hence, they cannot be associated with a draft view during its creation, but they can be related to an existing draft view.
