Merging Checkpoints
You can merge checkpoints in a Design Exploration session. Merging checkpoints from different branches allows you to incorporate changes from the different branches into a new checkpoint. The merge checkpoint appears after the active checkpoint. The merge checkpoint includes the versions of the models that are in the merged parents.
You can merge checkpoints when the following occurs:
There are no unsaved modifications in the session.
One of the selected checkpoints is active.
In the Checkpoint Tree:
—Identifies a merged checkpoint
—Identifies a Merge Checkpoint
—Identifies an active Merge Checkpoint
*
There is no reason to merge a checkpoint with another checkpoint on the same path. This will result in a redundant copy of the checkpoint.
To Merge Checkpoints
1. Select the active checkpoint and one or more checkpoints in the Checkpoint Tree, right-click, and select Merge. A new, Merge Checkpoint appears in the Checkpoint Tree after the active checkpoint. It is now the active checkpoint.
*
To reduce clutter and makes it easier to see the merge checkpoint in the Checkpoint Tree, right-click the merge checkpoint in the tree, and select Make Active Branch Main.
2. To delete the merge checkpoint, right-click it in the Checkpoint Tree, and select .
