About Handling the Missing Components of Imported Creo Elements/Direct Models
When you import Creo Elements/Direct assemblies to Creo, some of the *.sdpc and *.sdac part and sub-assembly components can skip import. However, even if *.sdpc and *.sdac files have skipped import, you can still open the Translated Image Models (TIMs) of the assemblies with the missing TIM components in Creo. Empty nodes are created on the Model Tree for the missing TIM components of the Creo Elements/Direct assembly models imported to Creo. The missing part and sub-assembly TIM components of the imported assemblies display the broken links icon on the Model Tree.
As Creo Elements/Direct part and assembly models import as Translated Image Models (TIMs) to Creo, you can use the Associative Topology Bus (ATB) commands of Check Status and Update to locate and restore the missing part and sub-assembly TIM components of the imported TIM assemblies. You can select the missing part and sub-assembly TIM components on the Model Tree and click Model > Operations > ATB > Check Status followed by Model > Operations > ATB > Update. You can, alternatively, right-click a missing part or sub-assembly TIM component on the Model Tree and click Associative Topology Bus > Check Status followed by Associative Topology Bus > Update.
The ATB information stored with the missing TIM components includes their source file names and path. The Check Status command searches for the source file names and the reference path of the missing components and restores the source files based on the ATB information stored wit the missing TIM components.
The following model parameters of the missing TIM components also provide the relevant ATB information:
TIM_STATUS—Displays value as Missing Ref Model.
REF_LINK—Provides the full path of the reference model including the model name.
PTC_VAL_IMP_PART_STATUS—Displays value as MISSING_COMPONENT.
After Check Status restores the missing TIM parts and sub-assembly models, they display the out-of-date status represented by the corresponding icon. You can use the Associative Topology Bus > Update command to update the out-of-date TIM components.
