To Import a CATIA V4 Model File

1. Click File >

Open. The File Open dialog box opens.

2. Select CATIA V4 Model (*.model, *.exp) in the Type box.

3. Select the CATIA V4 file you want to import from the list of available files or browse to find the CATIA file.

The File Open dialog box is set to the Open option by default. You can open the CATIA V4 *.model file as a non-Creo model by default.

4. Select Import on the File Open dialog box. The Import New Model dialog box opens.

5. Select an existing CATIA V4 import profile from the Profile list to replace the profile in use. If you click Details, you can customize the import profile in the import profile editor, CATIA V4 - Import Profile. The Enable ATB option is selected by default.

You must clear the default selection of the Enable ATB option in the Import New Model dialog box to customize the import of layers. The Import New Model dialog box displays the Customize layers option when you clear the selection of the Enable ATB option.

6. Click OK in the Import New Model dialog box. The Layer Import Options dialog box opens if you cleared the selection of the Enable ATB option and clicked Customize layers in the Import New Model dialog box.

7. Select layers for import and set their layer import status in the Layer Import Options dialog box. The CATIA V4 model is imported with Associative Topology Bus (ATB) capabilities. The import log file is automatically generated in the working directory.
