About Inserting Neutral Parts with Construction Bodies in Existing Parts
When you insert a Neutral part with construction bodies into an existing part, with the Add Geometry body option selected on the Import tab, the construction bodies are included in the merged solid that is added to the existing part.
To not include the construction bodies in the merged solid, follow these steps.
1. On the Import tab, click Import Data Doctor to open Import DataDoctor (IDD).
2. Right-click the respective body node in the Geometry and Topology Structure Tree in IDD, and clear the Solid check box on the shortcut menu.
When you update the ATB-enabled import feature that is created by the insertion of the Neutral part in the existing part, the construction and solid bodies of the Neutral part are included in the merged solid irrespective of their body designations. If the ATB update of the import feature adds more construction and solid bodies, they are included in the updated merged solid.
You can set and unset a body as a construction body.
To change a construction body to a solid body, right-click a construction body and select Unset as Construction.
To change a solid body to a construction body, right-click a solid body and select Set as Construction.
An ATB update after setting or unsetting a construction body propagates the change in the bodies to the source Neutral files.
