About the Surface Import Options in the Profiles
The surface import options available in the import profiles are as follows:
Keep b-spline surfaces—Retains surfaces that are B-splines.
Re-parameterize non-analytical surfaces based on arc length—Reparameterizes nonanalytical surfaces, such as tabulated cylinders, surfaces of revolution, and ruled surfaces, according to their arc length.
Perform G2 fix—Perform G2 fixes on surfaces. That is, noise in B-spline surfaces is cleaned and smoothened before the B-spline surfaces are converted to Creo surfaces.
Simplify surfaces—Simplifies the imported surfaces. This check box is selected by default.
The surface boundary preferences are as follows:
UV—Uses the half-edges along the uv direction, if available. This is the default boundary preference.
XYZ—Uses the intersection curves along xyz, if available.
The Close open boundaries option on the import profiles enables you to connect the end-points of trimming boundaries and close the open boundaries of the imported surfaces.
The following table lists the mapping between the legacy configuration options that controlled the import of 3D data and the corresponding import profile options for surfaces:
