About Importing the Coordinate Systems of Creo Elements/Direct Models
When you import Creo Elements/Direct Modeling files, the coordinate systems of the part and assembly models are also transferred.
The imported coordinate systems reference linear and angular dimensions and notes. When the angular dimensions reference a coordinate system axis in Creo Elements/Direct, the import creates a coordinate system axis as the reference for the imported dimensions to preserve the dimensions as angular dimensions. When the angular dimensions reference a plane of the coordinate system in Creo Elements/Direct, the import creates a datum plane as the reference for the imported dimensions.
Therefore, after import, angular dimensions reference a coordinate system axis or a datum plane in Creo Parametric. Linear dimensions, however, continue to reference the coordinate system after import.
