About Handling the Missing Components of Creo Elements/Direct Models
When you open Creo Elements/Direct*.sdpc and *.sdac content files in Creo, the *.sdcc container files and the stock finish parts are ignored and are not retrieved in Creo even if the Include Containers / Stock-Finish Relation check box is selected in the open or import profile. Even when the container files and the stock and finished parts exist in the Creo Elements/Direct*.sdpc and *.sdac models selected for the file open, the models are opened in Creo without the container files and the stock and finished parts and their relationship defined in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling.
Container models are storage assemblies that store assemblies, parts, work planes and work plane sets, and external geometry that is used as local reference. Containers are not part of the Creo Elements/Direct assembly structure.
However, you can open the Creo Elements/Direct assembly models in Creo even if the *.sdcc container files and the stock finish parts constitute the missing components of the non-Creo assembly models. Empty nodes are created for the missing files. You can select the node for the missing component on the Model Tree, right-click, and click Retrieve Missing Component to relocate the missing component. You can, alternatively, retrieve the missing component in the Notification Center.
