To Explicitly Convert non-Creo Model to TIM Without Initiating Design Changes
1. Open a Creo assembly with non-Creo models as components from a Windchill server.
2. Select a non-Creo component on the Model Tree and click Model > Operations > Convert to new Creo models.
The New name column on the Model Tree displays the names suggested by Creo for the non-Creo model and its parents after conversion.
The Convert to new Creo models dialog box opens.
3. Retain the default selection of Convert automatically or click Use advanced conversion tools and click OK.
If you clicked Use advanced conversion tools, the Convert to new Creo models dialog box opens. The New name column in the Convert to new Creo models dialog box displays the suggested names for the non-Creo component and its non-Creo parent models.
4. If required, specify alternate model names with the .prt and asm extensions in New name.
5. Click OK. The Conflicts dialog box opens and prompts you to check out the Creo assembly model.
6. Select Check out now from the Action list and click OK in the Conflicts dialog box to check out the top assembly model. The non-Creo component and its parent model that are converted to Translated Image Models (TIMs) replace the non-Creo component and its parent models.

The Warning — TIM models already exist on server! warning dialog box opens when TIM parts and assemblies exist on the Windchill server for the non-Creo components. It lists the TIM parts and assemblies that exist on the server for the non-Creo component and suggests that you reuse the existing TIM models and not create TIM parts and assemblies. It recommends that you use the Replace command.
7. If the Warning — TIM models already exist on server! warning dialog box opens, click one of the following options:
Continue to proceed with the conversion of the non-Creo component to a TIM part or assembly and replace the non-Creo component with this newly-created TIM model.
Cancel to manually replace the non-Creo component with the existing TIM part or assembly from the Windchill server.
8. Click File > Check In > Auto Check In or right-click the model and click Check In > Auto to check in the converted or the replaced model to the Windchill server.
