About the External Simplified Representation User Interface
When you create an external simplified representation and open it in a new window the External Simplified Representation group appears in the Model tab. The group contains the following commands.

Update Representation—Updates the external simplified representation to incorporate changes made to the reference representation. The Open Rep dialog box opens when the external simplified representation is independent. A dependent external simplified representation is updated according to the reference representation.

Make Dependent—Makes the external simplified representation dependent on the selected Master assembly representation.

Define Master—Defines the Master assembly for the external simplified representation. This option is only available when you create an empty external simplified representation.
