Security for Toolkit Applications Is Improved
There is improved control over security when accessing a toolkit-based application in Creo.
Release: Creo Parametric 7.0.0.0
What is the benefit of this enhancement?
In Creo Parametric 7.0.0.0, you can control how toolkit applications that are trusted and toolkit applications that are not trusted, are loaded in Creo. When you are accessing a toolkit-based application, the following occurs:
1. Creo verifies if the application is properly signed with a trusted Microsoft certificate.
2. If an application is not signed, a dialog box opens stating that the application is from an unknown source. You are prompted to run or not to run the application.
Configuration options are introduced to control whether to open, reject, or open a warning dialog box when a signed or unsigned application is loaded.
open_protk_unsigned_apps—Controls whether to load unsigned Toolkit applications in a Creo session. Values are prompt, never, and always. The default is prompt.
open_protk_signed_apps—Controls whether to load signed Toolkit applications in a Creo session. Values are prompt, never, and always. The default is always.
Improved control over security when loading internal or external toolkit applications, protects you from loading applications that are not trusted, which can be a security risk.
