Defining the Scope of Live Simulation
When working with large assemblies, you sometimes need to select specific components for a simulation study. Use the Scope functionality to specify which components of the assembly to include in the simulation live study. If you do not define the scope for a study then live simulation runs on the top level assembly.
To Define the Scope of a Simulation Study
1. Click > 
Simulation Scope. The Simulation Scope dialog box opens.
Simulation Scope. The Simulation Scope dialog box opens.2. Select components that you want to include in the simulation study. Hold down the CTRL key to select multiple components to be added to the study.
3. Click OK. The scope is added to the Model Tree under the Simulation Study node. When you select Scope from the Model Tree, the components included in the scope are highlighted in the Graphics Window.
To Modify the Scope of a Simulation Study
1. Click > Simulation Scope. The Simulation Scope dialog box opens and displays the components that are included in the active simulation study.

To add a component, hold down the CTRL key and select the component to be added , from the Graphics Window.
3. Click OK to update the scope for the simulation study.
To Copy the Scope of a Simulation Study from one Study to Another
1. From the Model Tree, right-click and select 
Activate to activate a simulation study to which you want to copy the scope from another study.
