Convection Radiation Boundary Condition—Creo Simulation Live
This thermal boundary condition combines both convection and radiation conditions. The radiative part of the heat transfer is represented by the following formula:
where:
Qr—Radiative Heat Transfer
emissivity epsilon—Emissivity (user specified)
—Stefan Boltzmann constant 5.670373 x 10-8 W m-2 K-4
A—Surface area (computed based on your geometry selection).
Tl—Local surface temperature (computed)
—Far-field temperature (user specified)
To Define a Convection Radiation Boundary Condition
1. Click Live Simulation > Convection Radiation. The Convection Radiation dialog box opens.
2. Select the surfaces to which you want to apply the boundary condition. Your selection appears in the Surfaces collector.
3. Specify the following values for convective heat transfer:
Film coefficient
Ambient temperature
4. Specify the following values for radiative heat transfer:
Emissivity
Farfield temperature
5. Click OK to create and save the boundary condition.
