MEC/T History Temperature Loads
Click Home > Loads > MEC/T History Load in Structure mode to apply a temperature load across the entire model. This is done based on a temperature field developed from the result of a transient thermal analysis. Using this load, you can apply the temperature history generated during a transient thermal analysis as a history of temperatures in a nonlinear quasistatic structural analysis. This option is available in 3D native mode models.
When you click Home > Loads > MEC/T History Load , the MEC/T History Temperature dialog box opens with the following items:
Name—The name of the load.
Member of Set—The name of the structure load set. Click New to open the Load Set Definition dialog box to define a new load set.
*
MEC/T History load must be the only load in its load set.
Use previous design study—Decides whether to run the thermal analysis before running any structural analysis or not. This check box is selected by default.
Design Study—It appears only if you have selected the Use previous design study check box. If multiple standard design studies exist, you can select a design study other than the first standard design study with a transient analysis.
Analysis—Lists the previously run thermal analyses in the model. The Analysis drop-down list allows you to select from the following options:
The transient analyses defined in the model (if you clear Use previous design study check box.)
The transient analyses in the selected study (if you select Use previous design study check box.)
If you select Use previous design study, a design study or an analysis has already been run and the results are available. If you clear this check box, the transient thermal analysis will be run before the structural analysis that contains the associated Mec/T History load.
Reference Temperature—The nominal zero strain temperature for the model. Type a real number or an expression for the Reference Temperature. Select the temperature units from the adjacent drop-down list.
