Mass Definition Dialog Box
When you click Refine Model > Mass, the Mass Definition dialog box opens. Use the items on this dialog box to create a mass in native mode.
Name—Enter a descriptive name, or accept the default name.
Type—The availability of options on the Mass Definition dialog box depends on the type of mass you select from this list. You may select one of the following types:
Simple—If you select this type, select edges, curves, surfaces, one or more points, vertices, point features, patterns of points or intent objects as references. Your selections appear in the References collector.
Advanced—If you select this type, select one or more points, vertices, point features, patterns of points or intent points. Your selections appear in the References collector.
Component At Point—This type is available only in the assembly mode. You can select only a single datum point or vertex as a reference for this type. Your selection appears in the References collector.

Properties—The options that are available in the Properties area of the dialog box also depend on your selection in Type.
Simple—Specify the Distribution of the mass. You can choose Total Mass or Mass Per Point.
Specify the mass as a real number in the Mass area. Alternatively, you can specify the mass as a PTC Creo Parametric parameter. To specify a parameter, right-click Mass and select Parameter in the displayed menu.
Advanced—The mass distribution for this type is Mass Per Point. Click Selected in the CSYS area to select a coordinate system, or select the WCS. You must also specify a mass property for advanced masses. The mass properties are relative to the selected coordinate system. You can use any mass property previously defined for your model, or you can click More to define new mass properties.

You cannot locate an advanced mass on the Z axis of a cylindrical coordinate system, or on the = 0 axis of a spherical coordinate system.

If you are working on a 2D model, Creo Simulate uses the coordinate system you specified during the definition of the 2D model as the WCS.
Component At Point—Select a part or subassembly on your assembly model. The software uses the mass property definition of the component for your mass idealization, as described in Masses Based on Components.
