Diagnostics
The Diagnostics dialog box and the Simulation Diagnostics area of Run Status dialog box comprise a tool available to view all errors and warning messages that are generated during meshing. or analysis. Creo Simulate also highlights the elements or geometric entities that cause a problem in the process of meshing or analysis. You can identify problems in the meshing and analysis and take required actions to correct them.
The title of the dialog box indicates the process in which messages are generated. This dialog box displays messages that are generated during any one of following processes:
Process
Title of the Dialog box
Meshing a model in native mode.
Diagnostics : AutoGEM Mesh
Meshing a model in FEM mode
Diagnostics : FEM Mesh
The Diagnostics dialog box opens either in the synchronous or in the asynchronous mode. In the synchronous mode, you can pan and zoom the model and access any menus in Creo Simulate toolbar. In the asynchronous mode, you cannot pan and zoom the model or access any Creo Simulate or Creo Parametric menus. You can access specific menus in the Diagnostics dialog box.
Creo Simulate automatically opens the Diagnostics dialog box in the following cases:
Situation
Mode
An error or a warning message appears during the AutoGEM meshing
Asynchronous
An error or a warning message appears during the FEM meshing.
Synchronous
An error or a warning message appears during the FEM analysis.
Synchronous
You run Interactive Diagnostics during the analysis.
Synchronous
In Native and FEM modes, click Home > Diagnostics or Refine Model > Diagnostics to open the Diagnostics dialog box.
Every time you mesh a model or run an analysis, Creo Simulate writes new messages in the Diagnostics dialog box or the Simulation Diagnostics area of Run Status dialog box and removes all the old messages.
To view all messages that are generated during the most recent AutoGEM meshing, first open the AutoGEM dialog box and then open the Diagnostics dialog box.
In FEM mode, the Diagnostics dialog box displays messages that are generated in the most recent FEM meshing.
The Diagnostics dialog box includes the following items:
Menu bar—You can manage the messages using the menu bar.
List area—This area of the dialog box displays a list of all messages generated during a process. It appears similar to the model tree in Creo Parametric.
Attributes—The Diagnostics dialog box displays the Source and Ignore attributes for each message and reference entity. You can view the source of the message in Source attribute and you can ignore the message or reference entity by selecting the Ignore check box.
Text area—This area displays details of a message. You must select the message in the list area to get a detailed view in the text area.
Help area—For more information on a diagnostic error message, warning message, or an information message, click the link at the bottom of the Diagnostics dialog box. The link opens the appropriate Help topic in a separate window.
Close—Use this button to close the dialog box. If you close the dialog box while running an analysis or meshing a model, Creo Simulate does not display the messages generated in the process.
